THE COLLECTION

As part of the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in July 2011, the successful young Romanian designer Stephan Pelger has launched the spring/ summer collection 2012 "EN GARDE", inspired by the noble sport of fencing. The new collection, a statement of creativeness, talent, vision and quality, marks the second presence of the designer this year on the international fashion scene.

The collection, composed of 30 outfits, reflects the artistic version of fencing in the vision of Stephan Pelger and provides an extensive choice of feminine, trendy and elegant designs. The outfits are complemented by stylized embroidered fencing masks and stylish high-heeled shoes. Key trends include fluid summer materials in colors ranging from dark olive, light olive, dark violet to white, combined with cognac leather and extravagant embroideries.

THE DESIGNER

Stephan Pelger was born in Brasov, Romania, and studied at the Fashion Institute in Vienna, where his creative talent was discovered early. After finishing his studies with brilliant success, he worked for the brands Missoni, Schella Can and DI Vercallo Cashmere, before deciding to return to his home country to build his own brand: STEPHAN PELGER.
His first collection, which was shown at the Iasi Fashion Festival, was praised and recognized by the critics. During his career, the designer took part in various competitions, winning them with astonishing regularity: In 1999 he won the "Swarovski: Cristallshow Award". On the following year the "Triumph Swarovski Graphic Award", the "Eskimo: Workoutfits Award", the "Palmers P2: Underwear Award" and the "Coral Black Velvet: Fashion Award." Last but not least, the designer rounded up his successful year 2001 by winning the "Olympic Sports Fashion Award".
Today Pelger still creates breathtaking collections, which are presented at various international fashion shows, and sells his creations in his studio and showroom based in Romania. Stephan Pelger creations are designed for self-confident and modern women, who set value on taste, style and elegance.
